WE BELIEVE IN YOU

Mapping your way through Delaware’s legal and correctional system is a collaborative effort to provide essential resources for families of the men and women involved in Delaware’s justice system; a system that too often is unjust, let alone confusing and challenging to navigate. An amazing team of dedicated professionals and volunteers came together following the Methodist Action Program’s October 2020 Legal System Reform Symposium with the one goal of gathering information and resources, creating this website and then publicizing its availability throughout the state. (You can watch a video recording of that event at mapde.org)

Our mission is simple: to support families with Loved Ones engaged with Delaware’s legal and correctional system with information that strengthens family ties and empowers family thriving.

  • Hundreds of real answers to frequently asked questions about making your way through the challenges of a Loved One’s arrest, incarceration and reentry.

  • Hundreds of real resources available to help answer questions and provide services.

  • Recorded videos answering questions in-depth including testimonies from real people who have lived and survived the experience of having a Loved One incarcerated and have moved on to thriving.

We hope and pray that your family will survive and thrive through the difficult days of incarceration and re-entry.

TESTIMONIALS

I am the Chairperson of several non-profit organizations dealing with the Incarcerated and Reentry. I am on the Board or a Member of a few others. I have been praying for over 10 years for this chance to share information with the Families and those Returning Citizens. The whole process of arrest, incarceration and release is scary on so many levels, but the scariest part is the not knowing. I hope this will help you and your Loved One, to at least get some information and insight.

LORI ALBERTS

My father, was incarcerated and this was very difficult for my family and I. I imagine it had to be equally as difficult for him to be away from us as well. I’m grateful that the Methodist Action Program has created resources for those who have dealt with or are dealing with loved ones who are incarcerated. This website offers vast knowledge and resources to help guide families through the process of the legal system.

CEANDRE GOSA

Having a family member incarcerated years ago we were lost and didn’t know what to do. If we had resources like this a lot of questions would have been answered for us. I’m proud to help build a resource that will answer questions for many who may feel hopeless or lost when their loved one is imprisoned as we did. The volunteers in this group are an amazing group of individuals who have gone above and beyond to answer many questions and provide useful resources.
